Cops shoot at men who allegedly broke into Queens luxury car dealership

The NYPD fired shots at a group of suspects who police say drove toward them after allegedly breaking into a luxury car dealership in Queens.

What we know:

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. when police responded to a call about a burglary in progress at the luxury car lot on 33rd Ave. and Prince Street in Flushing.

According to police, the suspects – who were armed – jumped into several vehicles and attempted to drive away at a high rate of speed toward the officers, who were on foot.

One officer fired his weapon as the vehicles drove northbound on Miller Street, police say. No injuries were reported, though one officer was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Four of the five vehicles were recovered, police say.

What they're saying:

A worker told FOX 5 NY’s Meredith Gorman the vehicles that were stolen were not cars being worked on, but rather cars for sale as the spot is a luxury car dealership and an auto shop.

What we don't know:

It's unknown if any of the suspects were struck by bullets. No word yet on any arrests.
